YH: Filming Day 3: 13.3.2012
We gathered at EW's house yesterday to shoot the final dream sequences for our project Dream State. The way this sequence was shot made it look very interesting and enigmatic which we believe would certainly appeal to the audiences.
YH: Filming day 4: 18- March- 2012
On sunday the group met again at EW's house with the objective of finishing the filming of our Dream State project. We used a steadicam frame for the shots we took when shooting these sequences. The group used multiple techniques to make the opening look more enigmatic and interesting for the audiences.

YH: Filming Day 2: Sunday 11.3.2012
As a group we commenced our second shoot on Sunday the 11th. During this shoot we managed to get some good footage which is going to be used in our dream sequence with the antagonist. In this shoot we made use of low key lighting which added to the enigma. We also used a variety of shots which helped make the dream sequence more exciting and enigmatic for the audiences. We used a knife as the murder weapon which is also the key prop for this sequence.

Group: Friday: 09.03.2012 Shoot
Our first filming shoot took place at St. Johns Park in Tunbridge Wells.
We began by filming the first few shots of our opening in order to establish our starting point. As well as this, we took the oppurtunity to shoot the beginning in many various ways such as by postion and or location withing St. Johns park. We also chose to film extra content to ensure we had enough footage for when it came to editing.

Group: Audience Survey
The survey received multiple responses fron the audience. The first question revolved around our target audiences' genre preference. Most of the people went in favor of the comedy genre with 77.8% of the responses in its favor and the thriller genre with 11.1% responses in its favor. This may be a bit discouraging however the second question showed that the questionairre was mostly answered by our core target audience who is mostly happy to explore multiple genres.
The third question was as to how fitting the title 'Dream State' was for a film to which we again received many positive answers with 50% of the audience agreeing to the fact that it is a fitting title for the genre that has been chosen. The next question was about the names of the characters that we have chosen which gave us a clearer idea as to whether we should use these names or not.
Another question was about the techniques that we should use in our opening and most of the audiences responded with Black and white at 66.7% being the most preferred and Pull focus at 11.1% being the lowest. The final question was regarding the treatment and overall idea of the film which again recieved many positive responses from the audience which was encouraging for the group. The questionnaire overall has given us a clearer insight of how to go about making the sequence and to ensure that they meet the audiences' requirements.

Research & Planning - interim grade
Well done, the blog is a record of some enthusiastic research and planning, demonstrating proficiency in analysing texts using key concepts and developing your own film concept. Your pitch was interesting and original in the film treatment, and you have clearly reflected on feedback to select and refine the narrative for the opening sequence.
However, you were given some clear feedback about gaps in film research at the beginning and how you didn't have clear links between the films analysis and the concept - you haven't completed the technical analysis correctly (breakdown of all shots/sound/titles in first 2 minutes). This needs to be resolved. You are also missing audience research and findings on the blog.
At the moment, your research is a high L3, but gaps must be resolved.
Your practical tasks show promise technically, however you must take care with steady camera work, cutting on action and creating pace through fast editing. Having just reviewed your first draft animatic (posted with no comments / explanation?), I can see the planned narrative, however you need sound, camera movement indicated and my major concern is that the shots are very long, with not much going on in them. I think you need to review this carefully and add more shot ideas before you go on location - I was expecting a fast paced, surreal dream montage which is not evident in the animatic.
Nevertheless, a very promising concept and I hope you will shoot early to give you time to review and go looking for creative ideas to improve and refine the work.

Group: Animatic Storyboard
The animatic is the basic outline of all the technical aspects that we will cover while shooting the opening. The animatic also contains a sample of the non diagetic sounds that are going to be used in the whole sequence.
